The Genealogical Society of Queensland conducts a program of events including classes, seminars, workshops and education sessions each year to provide our members and visitors with a wide variety of information on family history topics.
Our Special Interest Groups also hold meetings. Members of GSQ are welcome to attend.

MEETING NOTICE
GENERAL MEETING OF THE GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY OF QUEENSLAND INC.

To consider, and if thought fit, pass the following resolution:
That the Genealogical Society of Queensland Inc. adopt the business name
Genealogy Queensland.

Background
The Society has considered modernising its trading name in the past, and the above name has previously been considered and generally accepted, but no formal motion to change has previously been moved. It has been suggested that the appropriate time to change would be when the new web site became available.
The Management Committee has discussed the implications of changing names and has taken steps to register the trading name to protect its use. If adopted, the full legal name of the Society would remain, with the business name used on the web site and promotional material.

After the Meeting, we will be having our Research Convenor Glenyce Voevodin-Keough talk to us regarding Researching and using the GSQ Databases available to members.
Voting
Members may vote at the meeting or by casting an absentee vote.
To cast an absentee vote, a member must provide to the Secretary in writing or by email to the Society address, advice In Favour or Against the above motion, by 5:00 pm on Monday 13 July 2026. A member casting an absentee vote may attend the meeting but may not vote on the motion.

How to book an Education Event
If you are a GSQ member you need to Sign In to purchase a ticket.
If you are a QFHS member, an Affiliate or Corporate of GSQ, you must enter the code you have obtained from your secretary into the requested area in order to receive the discount.

Transfer funds to GSQ’s bank account – details are provided at the time of booking.

For all courses, bookings are essential and must be completed Online.
Also, please note that the GSQ education program is prepared many months in advance. Occasionally, changes need to be made due to circumstances which are out of GSQ’s control.
