Margaret Doherty Memorial Bursary Fund

After the sudden passing of our former President and long-term colleague Marg Doherty earlier this year, many members expressed their desire for a fund in her name and many have already contributed funds to GSQ for this.
We are happy to announce that as a result of this generosity, GSQ will fund an annual bursary of $1,000 to assist people who wish to undertake a course of study in Family History from one of the recognised institutions.
The bursary will be open to applicants resident anywhere in Queensland, and will include a year of access to GSQ to further facilitate study. Remote and country people will be particularly encouraged to apply.

We trust that this bursary will encourage people of all ages to take up one of the courses offered here in Australia and lead to improved standards of research in Family History.

Applications will close on 31 December of each year for study in the following year. Full details, including conditions and selection criteria can be obtained by email from secretary@gsq.org.au
