SUPPORTING GSQ THROUGH DONATIONS
Your contribution helps preserve Queensland’s family history for generations to come. The Genealogical Society of Queensland (GSQ) is a not-for-profit, volunteer organisation dedicated to preserving and sharing family history resources.
Every donation, whether large or small, helps us maintain our Library, develop new projects, and continue to support researchers across Queensland and beyond. Many of GSQ’s resources and services exist today thanks to the generosity of members and friends. Your support ensures that our community of family historians continues to thrive.
Monetary Donations
Financial gifts to GSQ or the GSQ Library are always appreciated and make a real difference:
- Donations can be made online through the GSQ Shop, either to the Society or directly to the Library.
- Monetary donations to the GSQ Library over $2 are tax-deductible.
- If you have specific materials or equipment you’d like the Library to purchase, please get in touch with our Librarians or send an email to library@gsq.org.au

Donating Family History Material
Since GSQ’s beginnings, generous Queenslanders have donated countless valuable records, documents, and family histories. These contributions help future generations understand and celebrate our shared past. We warmly welcome donations of family history information, books, and other relevant materials — especially those relating to the Queensland community. Before donating:
- Contact the Library to discuss your items.
- Complete this PDF form
- Please provide as much detail as possible about your donation to help us assess its relevance.
- Check with family members to ensure they support your decision to donate.
Once items are accepted:
- Ownership is formally transferred from the donor to GSQ.
- Donations become the property of GSQ and may be used, stored, or displayed in ways that best support the Society’s mission.
- For legal and preservation reasons, items cannot be returned once donated.
GSQ Note: Donations help build an enduring record of Queensland families and communities — preserving stories that might otherwise be lost.
